Atlanta’s Close In Historic Neighborhoods 

Atlanta Georgia is a city of about 500,000 people and a metropolitan area of around 6,000,000. There are three major interstates I20, I75 and I85 which converge in downtown Atlanta. Our beltway is about a 64 mile loop around the city which actually includes a number of smaller cities. We are also a major railroad hub with several railroads crisscrossing Atlanta. The Chatachoochee river cuts across the city and the combination of these natural and man made barriers have divided the city into a number of separate communities.

I have listed a number of the popular close in neighborhoods and communities on this page, but I don’t have them all yet. This site is a work in progress and new areas are added on an ongoing basis. To any I have missed I apologize! I am adding pictures and links to interesting attractions constantly, if you have any links you would like to be included please let me know!
