Avondale Estates is a charming historic City which is inside the Perimeter Hwy. a little south and east of Decatur and about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta. It was a planned community with a lot of stately trees, community parks and a beautiful lake. Many of the classic style homes, Tudor, Victorian and Craftsman’s Bungalows were built in the city and really, each home is unique…it is not a cookie cutter neighborhood!
There is a quaint downtown area of Avondale with shops and restaurants. There is a Stratford on Avon feel to the architecture.
There is a beautiful recreational area with several pools, tennis courts and a lake. The homes have a historic style built between 1930’s and the present. There are less than 3000 homes in the city.
