Decatur Real Estate

Decatur is a old Southern City east of Atlanta yet inside the 285 perimeter highway. It is located about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta. It is also the county seat for Dekalb County. There is a traditional town Square with the Courthouse in the center. It’s a great small southern city at the intersection of Ponce deLeon and Clairmont Rd. There is a Marta Rail stop right on the square in Decatur (on the east west line). The area around the square in Decatur has numerous good restaurants to choose from, coffee houses, nightclubs, specialty shops and galleries. They are all within a short stroll and the mature trees and historic architecture make it a great place for a day trip. The gazebo in the square has concerts and plays in the spring and summer.
