Toco Hills / DeKalb County Real Estate
Toco Hills is an area outside the city limits of Atlanta but inside the perimeter highway. The name Toco Hills is not a universally accepted name for the area but Realtors use it because it is the best that we have. It’s really Unincorporated Dekalb County.
It has excellent public schools. The area offers nice dead end quiet neighborhoods with mostly brick ranches built in the 1950’s. Generally the homes have large wooded lots and most of the area subdivisions have swim tennis facilities and the DeKalb county sports leagues (soccer, baseball etc,) are family favorites.
The intersection of Druid Hills, Lavista and Clairmont Roads forms a triangle and inside the triangle is a large shopping center called Toco Hills. The neighborhood is east of I85 and north of Emory University, inside the perimeter.
I have divided the area by elementary school districts for the ease of search. They are more localized than the high school districts. The 1st is Briar Vista Elementary and includes the area around Briarcliff, just west and north of Emory University. Oak Grove is the next which is the area around Toco Hills. Sagamore Hills Elemntary includes the area north of of Clairmont Rd and Henderson Elemntary is around Shallowford Rd. and out towards Northlake.
