The Candler Mcafee real estate market 

History of  Candler/ Mcafee

This is a large area east of Kirkwood and East Lake inside the perimeter and north of I-20. It is a collection of neighborhoods mostly built in the 1950's and 1960's. It is predominantly from the Mid Century Modern era. The most common style is the ranch, either brick or frame one story houses. Some have basements if they are built on a hill, and there is a scattering of split level homes throughout. There has never been a general neighborhood name that has taken hold. For the purposes of this page, I am defining the area as everything in zip code 30032. 

There has been a huge amount of renovation of these houses and this is one of the only areas "close in"  that homeowners can get renovated homes from 200,000 and up.
