About Druid Hills
Druid Hills is a neighborhood of large elegant homes built in the early 1900’s by Asa Candler (of Coca Cola fame) and the Druid Hills Company. It was one of the first suburbs in Atlanta (after Inman Park) and was designed by Fredrick Law Olmestead. The beautiful sweeping streets and parks of the Ponce deLeon corridor and Lullwater, the generous setbacks and large lots, the views of the Druid Hills Golf Club and the homes designed by famed architects, all combine to create one of Atlanta’s premier neighborhoods. Druid Hills is on the National Historic Register. There is a very involved neighborhood association that homeowners and builders have to work with, The Druid Hills Historical Society.
Shopping The Emory Village at the entrance to Emory University is a nice neighborhood asset, with restaurants, a 24 hour pharmacy (serving Emory Hospital and the community), shops, bars, bookstores and cottage businesses like salons, dry cleaners, a meat market and coffee shops.
